Desire: the spark and the compass

Many spiritual paths counsel killing desire. Neville took the opposite view: desire is the spark of all creation, and your particular desires are a kind of inner compass, pointing toward who you are meant to become.

The task is not to suppress desire but to clarify it, then to assume its fulfillment. A wish felt as already granted stops being restless craving and becomes a quiet, creative certainty.
