Meeting the shadow

The shadow is everything we’ve disowned — the traits we judge in others because we won’t see them in ourselves. Jung held that what we don’t make conscious returns to us as “fate”.

Shadow work isn’t self-punishment. It’s recovery: reclaiming energy and aliveness that got exiled. Our strongest irritations are often a map to it.
