Meaning and the second half of life

Jung observed that the tasks of life’s morning — building an identity, a career, a place in the world — give way, around midlife, to different questions: meaning, depth, wholeness.

Trying to run the afternoon on the morning’s program is a common source of midlife unease. The invitation is to turn inward and ask what now wants to be lived.

Try this

Ask, without rushing: “What does this season of my life actually want from me?”

A thought to sit with

What mattered in your “morning” that matters less now — and what is rising in its place?
