Jung mapped four ways we orient: thinking, feeling, sensation, and intuition. We each lead with one and tend to neglect its opposite — our “inferior function”, the one that stays clumsy, childish, and easily overwhelmed.
It’s tempting to avoid this weak spot forever. But Jung saw it as a doorway: precisely because it’s undeveloped, it carries fresh life and is the natural route toward becoming more whole. Growth often lies in the very direction we’re worst at.
Name the area of life you handle worst. Approach it once, with curiosity instead of shame.
What clumsy, undeveloped side of you might be a doorway to growth?
